1950年代，华北农村。复员军人张满仓（于纯绵 饰）和本社姑娘李兰英（肖驰 饰）在劳动中产生感情，满仓娘（凌元 饰）看在眼里，喜在心上，打心眼里喜欢这个未来的儿媳。同村的大金子（杨静 饰）好逸恶劳，不愿待在农村，总想嫁到城里去。近墨者黑，时间一长，兰英受大金子影响，也觉得生活在农村没出息，捎信给在城里工作的哥哥（李炎 饰），求他在城里给自己找个体面工作。面对兰英的变化，满仓很生气，恰逢兰英哥带爱人（袁霞 饰）回农业社参加农业生产，一起对兰英的错误思想展开批评教育。面对家人苦口婆心的劝导，兰英的思想发生了很大触动，满仓也在等待着她的转变......。由导演同名短片拓展而来，入围2019年圣塞巴斯蒂安电影节新导演竞赛单元。 On her graduation day, Charlotte learns her first love has returned to her small Georgia town for the first time since vanishing the year before, in the midst of an awful trauma in her life.
