根据超人气动画『凉宫春日的忧郁』的原作小说派生出的四格恶搞漫画《小凉宫春日的忧郁》，于08年8月宣布了将改编为网络动画的消息。　　本作漫画由《凉宫》的原作家谷川流担任脚本，于2007年开始连载，08年5月刚刚发售了漫画单行本的第1卷。　　单行本发售之时，由于动画版『凉宫』在宣布第2季的制作后过了一年也迟迟不见动静，而小说原作的第10卷《凉宫春日的惊愕》也延期了1年多，所以FANS无处发泄的热情全集中到了漫画《小凉宫》之上，单行本一经发售迅速被抢购一空，就连多次紧急增印后也供不应求。　　此次的动画版『小凉宫春日的忧郁』，将在动画共享网站YouTube中的角川动画频道内播出。同时，以『凉宫』中的“鹤屋”为主角进行二次创作的漫画作品《Nyoron☆小鹤屋学姐》（Nyoron为鹤屋学姐的口癖），也将被改编为网络动画并在同一频道播出。。The story sees after a young man transferred from juvenile to adult prison, where he is taken under the wing of both Australia’s most despised criminal, and a soon-to-be-a-paroled inmate.
