曾在东京郊外派出所任职的佐治英雄（小林薰饰）于十年前退休，如今依旧居住在同一街区。有一天，一个名为北岭亚弓（尾野真千子饰）的刑警为调查附近发生的杀人案件前来走访佐治。该事件的受害者，曾因对年轻女性进行跟踪骚扰而被佐治逮捕。此人在服刑后，此次又袭击了那名女性并使其受伤。佐治对自己当时未更加留意此事深感懊悔。 在推进事件调查的过程中，北岭偶然发现了让人怀疑佐治是犯人的物证，对看似正直的他是否为犯人产生了更深的疑虑。察觉到自己被怀疑是杀人犯的佐治，为了维护自己曾经是警察的尊严，试图证明自己的清白，但另一方面，他也开始怀疑自己是否真的不是犯人，因为他患有认知症。想要相信自己清白的佐治与冷静追踪事件的北岭两人，不知不觉踏入了他内心的迷宫…。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems?
